MAPRE2

Description

The MAPRE2 (microtubule associated protein RP/EB family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 18.

MAPRE2 is a protein encoded by the MAPRE2 gene in humans. It shares homology with the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) protein-binding EB1 gene family. While its specific function remains unknown, its homology suggests potential involvement in tumorigenesis of colorectal cancers and the regulation of normal cell proliferation.

MAPRE2 may be involved in microtubule polymerization and spindle function by stabilizing microtubules and anchoring them at centrosomes. It might also play a role in cell migration.

MAPRE2 is also known as CSCSC2, EB1, EB2, RP1.
