MAP4K1
Description
The MAP4K1 (mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase kinase 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.
Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase kinase 1 is a protein kinase that in humans is encoded by the MAP4K1 gene. It is also known as HPK1 (Hematopoietic Progenitor Kinase 1). The protein has been shown to play a role in JNK activation.
MAP4K1 is a serine/threonine protein kinase that may play a role in the response to environmental stress, acting upstream of the JUN N-terminal pathway. It also contributes to hematopoietic lineage decisions and growth regulation. MAP4K1 can autophosphorylate and, in conjunction with CLNK, enhances CD3-triggered activation of T-cells and subsequent IL2 production.
MAP4K1 is also known as HPK1.
