MAN2A2
Description
The MAN2A2 (mannosidase alpha class 2A member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.
MAN2A2 plays a critical role in the production of complex N-glycans, acting as a catalyst for the initial step in this process. Specifically, it facilitates the conversion of high mannose structures into complex N-glycans, marking the final hydrolytic stage in the N-glycan maturation pathway.
MAN2A2 is also known as MANA2X, alpha-MIIx.
