MAN1A2
Description
The MAN1A2 (mannosidase alpha class 1A member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.
Mannosyl-oligosaccharide 1,2-alpha-mannosidase IB is an enzyme encoded by the MAN1A2 gene in humans.
This enzyme plays a key role in the maturation of Asn-linked oligosaccharides. It progressively removes alpha-1,2-linked mannose residues from Man(9)GlcNAc(2) to generate Man(5)GlcNAc(2).
MAN1A2 is also known as MAN1B.
