MAML2

Description

The MAML2 (mastermind like transcriptional coactivator 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

Mastermind-like protein 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MAML2 gene. Details on the activity of the N-terminal domain of Mastermind-like protein 2 may be found under MamL-1.

MAML2 acts as a transcriptional coactivator for NOTCH proteins. It has been shown to amplify NOTCH-induced transcription of HES1 and potentiates activation by NOTCH3 and NOTCH4 more efficiently than MAML1 or MAML3.

MAML2 is also known as MAM-3, MAM2, MAM3, MLL-MAML2.
