MAGEE1

Description

The MAGEE1 (MAGE family member E1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

MAGEE1 might boost the activity of RING-type zinc finger-containing E3 ubiquitin-protein ligases, enzymes that attach ubiquitin tags to other proteins. It‘s thought that MAGEE1 achieves this by helping to gather and stabilize the Ubl-conjugating enzyme (E2) at the E3:substrate complex, where ubiquitination occurs.

MAGEE1 is also known as DAMAGE, HCA1.
