MAGED4

Description

The MAGED4 (MAGE family member D4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

MAGE family member D4 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MAGED4 gene.

MAGED4 enhances the activity of RING-type zinc finger-containing E3 ubiquitin-protein ligases, which are enzymes that attach ubiquitin to other proteins. It is thought to achieve this by recruiting and stabilizing the Ubl-conjugating enzyme (E2) at the E3:substrate complex.

MAGED4 is also known as MAGE-D4, MAGE-E1, MAGE1, MAGEE1.
