LPIN3

Description

The LPIN3 (lipin 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

LPIN3, also known as Lipin-3 or Lipin-3-like, is a magnesium-dependent enzyme that converts phosphatidic acid into diacylglycerol. This reaction plays a crucial role in the synthesis of triglycerides, phosphatidylcholine, and phosphatidylethanolamine, and consequently influences fatty acid metabolism.

LPIN3 is also known as LIPN3L, SMP2, dJ620E11.2.
