Description

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), commonly referred to as lupus, is an autoimmune disease that affects multiple organs and tissues. It occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body's own healthy cells and tissues, leading to inflammation and damage. SLE can present with a wide range of symptoms, varying from person to person.
