LMLN

Description

The LMLN (leishmanolysin like peptidase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

The human LMLN gene encodes a zinc-metallopeptidase called leishmanolysin-like (metallopeptidase M8 family). This protein may contribute to cell migration and invasion. Research on a similar protein in fruit flies suggests a potential role in cell division. Different versions of the LMLN gene have been identified due to alternative splicing.

Metalloprotease.

LMLN is also known as GP63, INV, IX14, LMNL1, MSP.
