LMCD1

Description

The LMCD1 (LIM and cysteine rich domains 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

LMCD1, also known as Dyxin, acts as a transcriptional cofactor that regulates the activity of GATA transcription factors. It specifically inhibits the function of GATA6 by blocking its ability to bind to DNA. This results in the suppression of GATA6-mediated activation of target genes, particularly those involved in lung and heart development. LMCD1 also inhibits the binding of GATA4 and GATA1 to the cTNC promoter. Additionally, LMCD1 plays a key role in the development of cardiac hypertrophy by activating the calcineurin/NFAT signaling pathway.

LMCD1 is also known as -.
