LIME1

Description

The LIME1 (Lck interacting transmembrane adaptor 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

Lck-interacting transmembrane adapter 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LIME1 gene. LIME1 is a raft-associated transmembrane adaptor phosphoprotein that is preferentially expressed in hemopoietic cells, particularly T cells.

LIME1 plays a crucial role in signaling pathways triggered by B-cell antigen receptor (BCR) in B cells and T-cell antigen receptor (TCR) in T cells. It also potentially contributes to CD4-mediated inhibition of T-cell activation when TCR signaling is absent. LIME1 facilitates the connection between the activation of these receptors and their associated kinases with downstream intracellular events, such as calcium mobilization and MAPK activation. This connection is achieved through the recruitment of signaling molecules like PLCG2, GRB2, GRAP2, and others.

LIME1 is also known as LIME, dJ583P15.4.
