LGI2
Description
The LGI2 (leucine rich repeat LGI family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.
The LGI2 gene in humans encodes for the Leucine-rich repeat LGI family member 2 protein.
LGI2 plays a crucial role in the formation of inhibitory synapses between parvalbumin-positive basket cells and neuronal cell bodies (somas). These synapses are essential for proper neuronal communication and brain function.
LGI2 is also known as LGIL2.
