The LCE1A (late cornified envelope 1A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

LCE1A proteins are precursors that contribute to the formation of the cornified envelope, a tough protective layer in the outermost layer of skin (stratum corneum).

LCE1A is also known as LEP1.
