L3HYPDH

Description

The L3HYPDH (trans-L-3-hydroxyproline dehydratase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

L3HYPDH catalyzes the removal of water from trans-3-hydroxy-L-proline, converting it to Delta(1)-pyrroline-2-carboxylate (Pyr2C). This enzyme likely plays a role in breaking down trans-3-hydroxy-L-proline, which is found in the diet and in the breakdown of proteins like collagen-IV.

L3HYPDH is also known as C14orf149.
