KNTC1

Description

The KNTC1 (kinetochore associated 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

KNTC1 is an essential component of the mitotic checkpoint, which prevents cells from prematurely exiting mitosis. It is required for the assembly of the dynein-dynactin and MAD1-MAD2 complexes onto kinetochores, playing a crucial role in proper chromosome segregation during cell division.

KNTC1 is also known as ROD.
