KIFC2
Description
The KIFC2 (kinesin family member C2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.
KIFC2 is involved in the movement of cellular components along microtubule tracks. It plays a role in retrograde transport within axons, moving materials back towards the cell body. KIFC2 is also thought to be responsible for transporting multivesicular bodies (MVB), which are small vesicles involved in sorting and delivering cellular components, along dendrites.
KIFC2 is also known as -.
