KCNK15

Description

The KCNK15 (potassium two pore domain channel subfamily K member 15) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

The human gene KCNK15 encodes the K2P15.1 protein, a member of the two pore-forming P domain potassium channel superfamily. While K2P15.1 hasn't been shown to function as a channel independently, it might require collaboration with other non-pore-forming proteins to become active.

KCNK15 is a probable potassium channel subunit that does not exhibit channel activity when expressed alone in heterologous systems. It may require association with another protein to form a functional channel.

KCNK15 is also known as K2p15.1, KCNK11, KCNK14, KT3.3, TASK-5, TASK5, dJ781B1.1.
