KCNH6

Description

The KCNH6 (potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily H member 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily H member 6 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the KCNH6 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a voltage-gated potassium channel subunit.

This protein is a pore-forming alpha subunit of voltage-gated potassium channels. It produces a slowly activating, rectifying current. The channel's characteristics can be altered by cAMP and the combination of subunits.

KCNH6 is also known as ERG-2, ERG2, HERG2, Kv11.2, hERG-2.
