KCNA3

Description

The KCNA3 (potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

The human gene KCNA3 encodes a protein called Kv1.3, a member of the potassium channel family. Potassium channels are crucial for controlling the electrical activity of cells. Kv1.3 is particularly important for T cell function, as it regulates their activation and proliferation. The gene is located on chromosome 1 and is closely related to two other genes, KCNA2 and KCNA10. It is noteworthy that KCNA3 has no introns, meaning its coding sequence is uninterrupted.

KCNA3 is also known as HGK5, HLK3, HPCN3, HUKIII, KV1.3, MK3, PCN3.
