KCNA10

Description

The KCNA10 (potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

KCNA10, also known as Kv1.8, is a protein encoded by the KCNA10 gene in humans. It functions as a subunit of voltage-gated potassium channels.

KCNA10 mediates voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability in excitable membranes. It exists in open or closed conformations depending on the voltage difference across the membrane. When open, it forms a potassium-selective channel allowing potassium ions to pass down their electrochemical gradient. cAMP enhances the channel's activity.

KCNA10 is also known as Kcn1, Kv1.8.
