JOSD2

Description

The JOSD2 (Josephin domain containing 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

Josephin-2 is a deubiquitinating enzyme that preferentially removes 'Lys-63'-linked poly-ubiquitin chains from proteins. It can also remove 'Lys-48'-linked poly-ubiquitin chains, but with less efficiency. This activity has been demonstrated in laboratory settings.

JOSD2 is also known as SBBI54.
