Description

The JMJD4 (jumonji domain containing 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

JMJD4 is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydroxylation of lysine 63 on ETF1, a protein involved in electron transport. This hydroxylation reaction requires 2-oxoglutarate and iron as cofactors and promotes the efficient termination of translation by ETF1.
