JADE2

Description

The JADE2 (jade family PHD finger 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

JADE2 is a scaffold subunit of some HBO1 complexes, which possess histone H4 acetyltransferase activity. It acts as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, mediating the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target protein histone demethylase KDM1A. Furthermore, JADE2 functions as a ubiquitin ligase E3 toward itself and serves as a positive regulator of neurogenesis.

JADE2 is also known as JADE-2, PHF15.
