ITIH5

Description

The ITIH5 (inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor heavy chain 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

ITIH5 is a gene that provides instructions for making a protein that belongs to the inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor family. These proteins are involved in regulating the activity of certain enzymes called serine proteases, which play a role in a variety of biological processes, such as inflammation and tissue repair. ITIH5 may also act as a tumor suppressor.

May function as a tumor suppressor, potentially by inhibiting cell growth or promoting apoptosis.

ITIH5 is also known as ITI-HC5, PP14776.
