ITGAD
Description
The ITGAD (integrin subunit alpha D) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.
Integrin alpha-D is a protein encoded by the ITGAD gene in humans.
Integrin alpha-D/beta-2 acts as a receptor for ICAM3 and VCAM1, potentially contributing to the atherosclerotic process by facilitating clearance of lipoproteins from plaques and phagocytosis of blood-borne pathogens, particulate matter, and senescent erythrocytes.
ITGAD is also known as ADB2, CD11D.
