INTS8

Description

The INTS8 (integrator complex subunit 8) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

Integrator complex subunit 8 is a protein encoded by the INTS8 gene in humans.

The Integrator complex, which INTS8 is a part of, plays a crucial role in the transcription of small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs) U1 and U2. It also participates in the processing of these snRNAs, specifically their 3'-box-dependent processing. The complex is physically associated with the C-terminal domain (CTD) of the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II (POLR2A) and is recruited to the genes encoding U1 and U2 snRNAs.

INTS8 is also known as C8orf52, INT8, NEDCHS.
