INTS12

Description

The INTS12 (integrator complex subunit 12) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

Integrator complex subunit 12 (Int12), also known as PHD finger protein 22 (PHF22), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the INTS12 gene.

INTS12 protein is a subunit of the Integrator complex, which plays a crucial role in the transcription and processing of small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs) U1 and U2. The complex interacts with the C-terminal domain (CTD) of RNA polymerase II's largest subunit (POLR2A), facilitating its recruitment to the genes encoding U1 and U2 snRNAs. Additionally, INTS12 is involved in the recruitment of cytoplasmic dynein to the nuclear envelope, possibly as part of the Integrator complex.

INTS12 is also known as INT12, PHF22, SBBI22.
