IMMP1L

Description

The IMMP1L (inner mitochondrial membrane peptidase subunit 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

IMMP1L plays a key role in the import of proteins into the mitochondrial intermembrane space. It removes transit peptides from proteins that have crossed the inner mitochondrial membrane, allowing them to reach their final destination.

IMMP1L is also known as IMMP1, IMP1, IMP1-LIKE.
