IL19

Description

The IL19 (interleukin 19) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

IL-19 or IL 19 can refer to:

IL-19 functions as an anti-inflammatory and proangiogenic factor. It polarizes adaptive immunity toward an anti-inflammatory phenotype by inducing T-helper 2 responses through down-regulation of IFN-gamma and up-regulation of IL4 and IL13. IL-19 is produced by osteocytes and stimulates granulopoiesis and neutrophil formation. Its biological effects are mediated through a receptor complex composed of a heterodimer of IL20RA and IL20RB. This interaction activates the Janus kinase (JAK) and signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathway, particularly STAT3.

IL19 is also known as IL-10C, MDA1, NG.1, ZMDA1.
