IGSF6

Description

The IGSF6 (immunoglobulin superfamily member 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

IGSF6 is a protein encoded by the IGSF6 gene in humans. It's part of the immunoglobulin superfamily and has orthologs in various animals, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish. The gene is located on chromosome 16 and spans 13059 base pairs. It's predicted to be a component of the plasma membrane and contribute to immune responses, cell surface receptor signaling, and transmembrane signaling receptor activity. While the gene was linked to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), no association was found with specific single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and IBD in patients.

IGSF6 is predicted to be an integral part of the plasma membrane and plays a role in immune responses. It is also thought to be involved in cell surface receptor signaling and enable transmembrane signaling receptor activity.

IGSF6 is also known as DORA.
