IFNA8
Description
The IFNA8 (interferon alpha 8) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.
Interferon alpha-8 is a protein encoded by the IFNA8 gene in humans.
Interferon alpha-8 (IFN-alpha-8), produced by macrophages, exhibits antiviral activity. It stimulates the production of two enzymes: a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.
IFNA8 is also known as IFN-alphaB.
