IFNA6
Description
The IFNA6 (interferon alpha 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.
Interferon alpha-6 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IFNA6 gene.
Interferon alpha-6 (IFN-alpha-6), produced by macrophages, exhibits antiviral activity. It triggers the production of two enzymes: a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.
IFNA6 is also known as IFN-alphaK.
