The IFNA5 (interferon alpha 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

Interferon alpha-5 is a protein encoded by the IFNA5 gene in humans.

Interferon alpha-5 (IFN-alpha-5), produced by macrophages, exhibits antiviral activity. It triggers the production of two enzymes: a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.

IFNA5 is also known as IFN-alpha-5, IFN-alphaG, INA5, INFA5, leIF G.
