IFNA16

Description

The IFNA16 (interferon alpha 16) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

Interferon alpha-16, also known as IFN-alpha-16, is a protein encoded by the IFNA16 gene in humans.

IFN-alpha-16, produced by macrophages, exhibits antiviral activity. It stimulates the production of two enzymes: a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.

IFNA16 is also known as IFN-alpha-16, IFN-alphaO.
