IDI2

Description

The IDI2 (isopentenyl-diphosphate delta isomerase 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

IDI2 catalyzes the rearrangement of isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) into its isomer, dimethylallyl diphosphate (DMAPP). This reaction involves a 1,3-allylic shift, converting a homoallylic substrate into a highly electrophilic allylic isomer.

IDI2 is also known as IPPI2.
