ICE1

Description

The ICE1 (interactor of little elongation complex ELL subunit 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

ICE1 is a component of the little elongation complex (LEC), a complex essential for regulating the transcription of small nuclear RNA (snRNA) genes by RNA polymerase II and III. It acts as a scaffold protein, facilitating the formation and recruitment of the LEC complex, and promoting the binding of RNA polymerase II to snRNA genes within subnuclear bodies.

ICE1 is also known as KIAA0947.
