HYPK

Description

The HYPK (huntingtin interacting protein K) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

HYPK is part of several N-terminal acetyltransferase complexes, including the NatA and NatE complexes. It inhibits the acetylation activity of the NatA complex (NAA10-NAA15) and has chaperone-like activity that prevents the aggregation of huntingtin protein (HTT) in neurons, likely while associated with the NatA complex. It might also participate in the acetylation of PCNP by the NatA complex.

HYPK is also known as C15orf63, HSPC136.
