HSPA13

Description

The HSPA13 (heat shock protein family A (Hsp70) member 13) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 21.

HSPA13 is a gene in humans that encodes a protein belonging to the heat shock protein 70 family. This protein resides in the endoplasmic reticulum and participates in the processing of cytosolic and secretory proteins, as well as the removal of misfolded proteins. It contains an ATPase domain and interacts with a ubiquitin-like protein.

HSPA13 exhibits ATPase activity independent of any specific peptide binding.

HSPA13 is also known as STCH.
