HS3ST4

Description

The HS3ST4 (heparan sulfate-glucosamine 3-sulfotransferase 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

HS3ST4 is a sulfotransferase that uses PAPS (3'-phospho-5'-adenylyl sulfate) to attach a sulfo group to an N-unsubstituted glucosamine molecule attached to a 2-O-sulfo iduronic acid unit on heparan sulfate. Unlike 3-OST-1, HS3ST4 does not transform non-anticoagulant heparan sulfate into anticoagulant heparan sulfate.

HS3ST4 is also known as 3-OST-4, 30ST4, 3OST4, h3-OST-4.
