HS1BP3

Description

The HS1BP3 (HCLS1 binding protein 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

HCLS1 binding protein 3, also known as HS1BP3, is a protein encoded by the HS1BP3 gene in humans. It shares similarities with the mouse Hs1bp3 protein, which is involved in lymphocyte activation and interacts with Hcls1. HS1BP3 binds to members of the 14-3-3 protein family, which are highly expressed in motor neurons and Purkinje cells. These 14-3-3 proteins regulate the activation of tyrosine and tryptophan hydroxylase, enzymes involved in neurotransmitter production, through their interaction with Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase.

May be involved in modulating IL-2 signaling.

HS1BP3 is also known as ETM2, HS1-BP3.
