Human Rhinovirus 2 (HRV2): An Overview
Description
Human rhinovirus 2 (HRV2) is a type of virus that belongs to the family Picornaviridae. It is one of the most common viruses responsible for causing the common cold. HRV2 is highly contagious and can spread through contact with respiratory droplets or by touching objects contaminated with the virus.
The incubation period for HRV2 is typically 1-3 days. Symptoms can include:
- Runny nose
- Stuffy nose
- Sore throat
- Sneezing
- Cough
- Low-grade fever
- Headache
- Muscle aches
Symptoms usually resolve within 7-10 days. However, some people may experience more severe symptoms, such as pneumonia or bronchitis.
