HPCAL4
Description
The HPCAL4 (hippocalcin like 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.
HPCAL4 is a human gene that encodes a protein highly similar to hippocalcin and hippocalcin-like-1 proteins. It shares similarities with rat neural visinin-like Ca2+-binding protein-type 1 and 2 proteins, and belongs to the neuronal calcium sensor family. This protein may be involved in the calcium-dependent regulation of rhodopsin phosphorylation. The gene transcript exhibits multiple polyadenylation sites.
HPCAL4 is also known as HLP4.
