HP1BP3

Description

The HP1BP3 (heterochromatin protein 1 binding protein 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Heterochromatin protein 1, binding protein 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the HP1BP3 gene.

HP1BP3 plays a critical role in maintaining the structural integrity of heterochromatin during the G1/S phase of the cell cycle. It regulates the duration of the G1 phase, influencing cell proliferation. Under hypoxic conditions, HP1BP3 mediates chromatin condensation, contributing to increased tumor cell viability, radio-resistance, chemo-resistance, and self-renewal.

HP1BP3 is also known as HP1-BP74, HP1BP74.
