HOXB3

Description

The HOXB3 (homeobox B3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

HOXB3 is a human gene that encodes a nuclear protein with a homeobox DNA-binding domain. This protein acts as a sequence-specific transcription factor, involved in regulating developmental processes. It belongs to the Antp homeobox family and is located on chromosome 17 within a cluster of homeobox B genes. Elevated expression of HOXB3 is linked to a specific subtype of acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

HOXB3 is also known as HOX2, HOX2G, Hox-2.7.
