HNRNPDL
Description
The HNRNPDL (heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein D like) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.
HNRNPDL acts as a transcriptional regulator, promoting both repression and activation in specific contexts. It binds to DNA and RNA, interacting with various sequences. HNRNPDL displays a strong affinity for AU-rich elements (AREs) within the 3' untranslated regions (3'-UTRs) of numerous proto-oncogenes and cytokine mRNAs. Additionally, it binds to both nuclear and cytoplasmic poly(A) mRNAs, exhibiting a preference for poly(G) and poly(A) over poly(U) or poly(C) RNA homopolymers. Its binding to the 5'-ACUAGC-3' RNA consensus sequence further underscores its role in RNA regulation.
HNRNPDL is also known as HNRNP, HNRPDL, JKTBP, JKTBP2, LGMD1G, LGMDD3, laAUF1.
