HNRNPA0
Description
The HNRNPA0 (heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A0) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A0 (hnRNP A0) is a protein encoded by the HNRNPA0 gene in humans. It belongs to the A/B subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs), which are RNA binding proteins that complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). These proteins are associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and play a role in pre-mRNA processing, mRNA metabolism, and transport. While hnRNPs are primarily found in the nucleus, some can shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm. Each hnRNP protein exhibits distinct nucleic acid binding properties. hnRNP A0 contains two repeats of quasi-RRM domains for RNA binding, followed by a glycine-rich C-terminus.
HNRNPA0 is also known as HNRPA0.
