HMGN4

Description

The HMGN4 (high mobility group nucleosomal binding domain 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

HMGN4 gene encodes a transcription factor, High mobility group nucleosome-binding domain-containing protein 4. This protein is part of the HMGN protein family and is thought to loosen the chromatin structure within nucleosomes, thus making DNA more accessible for transcription. The gene has various transcript variants due to alternative polyadenylation.

HMGN4 is also known as HMG17L3, NHC.
