HLX

Description

The HLX (H2.0 like homeobox) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

The gene HLX in humans encodes the H2.0 homeobox protein. It is distinct from HLX-1, an intermediate-mass black hole, and Hapag-Lloyd Express, a former German airline.

This protein plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of Th1 cells, a type of immune cell. Specifically, it acts as a transcription factor, regulating the expression of genes involved in Th1 cell maturation and function. Beyond its role in the immune system, this protein is also involved in the processes of embryogenesis and hematopoiesis, which are the formation of an embryo and the production of blood cells, respectively.

HLX is also known as HB24, HLX1.
