HINFP

Description

The HINFP (histone H4 transcription factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

HINFP acts as both a transcriptional repressor and activator. It represses gene expression by binding to the consensus sequence 5'-CGGACGTT-3' and the RB1 promoter. It activates transcription of histone H4, ATM, and PRKDC genes, particularly during the G1/S phase transition in conjunction with NPAT. HINFP also autoregulates its own expression by binding to its own promoter.

HINFP is also known as HiNF-P, MIZF, ZNF743.
